The Brave Traveler
Travel Excuse #26: "I am not a risk taker"
I have never met a person who said that they regretted traveling. I HAVE, however met many people who say they regret NOT traveling. As I get older I continue to meet people who are simply too scared to take the risk and yet admire those who do travel. There really is a common misconception that all people who travel are somehow risk-takers or people that toss all their cares to the wind.
This is not true!
Just about anyone who loves to explore and grow in different areas of their life has the ability to take two weeks to two years to journey toward those passions. The excuses around finance, family, or work simply are not good excuses any longer with all the options out there. There are countless international job opportunities, coaches ready to help you fundraise, educational options that are perfect for your children and a variety of ways to volunteer! In fact, what better way to give you and your children a great education than to expose them to as many cultures as possible.
There has never been a better time to toss out the old excuses, worries, and second thoughts. It is time to make it happen!
There are no guarantees in life and if you manage to live to the ripe old age of 99, you will not want to regret like so many do. We have all heard it before - "I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me."
The truth of the matter is that you will most likely regret not traveling and making your dreams come to life. Travel is part of the journey. Become the brave traveler.
"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." - Mark Twain,
