I recently spent several days in Cyprus collaborating with my colleagues and learning more about the details of their work. They came from Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia and Cyprus, all ready to discuss how they have seen God work in and through their professional projects and how He is transforming communities one individual at a time. What I learned has transformed the last several weeks of my life: there is good happening in the world.

In Cyprus, refugees now have access to weekly distributions of clothes and food, English classes are being taught and legal services provided.

In Jordan, children are learning how to play classical music for the first time. Refugees are experiencing dignity once again as their communities are becoming established, clean water is being installed and neighbors are reaching out to welcome the newcomer. Wellness and fitness classes are being taught, bringing health, strength and healing to a city.

In Turkey, adults have access to professional-level English training and refugee children are experiencing the freedom to play and learn once again.

In Morocco, teams of expats are receiving leadership training and coaching, helping them to persevere in their work and have a longer, loving impact in the region. Others are receiving one-on-one counseling and at-risk youth are provided with tutoring.

In Tunisia, a country that is blossoming on the heels of its revolution, is growing in its capacity to educate the next generation. IDEAS teachers are part of that movement! Parents of autistic children are learning how to care for and love their children, helping them to realize that these children have worth and were created for a purpose. Orphans are being held and the disabled are being treated with kindness and compassion.

In Lebanon, our Associates are helping to train the next generation of Christian Lebanese leaders, spreading true and lasting hope throughout an entire region.

And these are only six of the countries in which we work and only a sampling of those that work and partner with IDEAS!

God is moving. People's lives are being changed for the better. Jobs are being created, children and adults are being educated, the sick are receiving healthcare, refugees are finding a place to rest and be known, music is being played, and love is being shared and multiplied.

Do not be discouraged, rather gather your courage and keep moving. No matter what you read online or hear on the news, there is good happening in the world, even at this very moment.
